Sections & Focus Groups

Sections and Focus Groups reflect the scientific breadth of the Union. These groups are responsible for fostering scientific discussion and collaboration among members who affiliate with them.  Sections and Focus Groups connect you with other scientists in your research area. Historically, Sections are disciplinary while Focus Groups are interdisciplinary. Sections and Focus Groups offer many opportunities to engage with AGU. Sections and Focus Groups play a role in identifying emerging issues, providing member input, and nominating scientists for honors and recognition.
